We are excited to share something special with you from Guatemala.
This past week, the Walipini Impact Team joined our community and together they accomplished something incredible.
For a week, five volunteers from the Walipini Impact team worked side by side with ten amazing women from our community. They put in twelve hour days together building our very first Walipini greenhouse.
It was hard work, but it was also full of laughter, teamwork, and the kind of
connection that happens when people from different parts of the world come
together with the same purpose.
This Walipini greenhouse will become an important part of our programs moving forward.
For the last five years we have been purchasing plant starts from another greenhouse so our garden towers could grow healthy vegetables. Now, thanks to this project, we will be able to grow our own starts right in our community. We will be growing strawberries, beans, vegetable starts, and more.
Even more meaningful, this greenhouse will create a job for one of our moms who
will maintain the Walipini and grow the plants for our gardens.
