Our group got to load up into buses to travel 20 minutes to a quiet village where we would help install garden towers. We were lucky to have the President of The USANA Foundation with us. He taught best practices to grow successful and self sustainable gardens. Thanks to our partnership with The USANA Foundation we have been able to create 5 full time positions within the Be Humanitarian community. We have a fantastic team that consists of awesome individuals who are sewing and installing all of the garden towers. We just hit 150 installed garden towers.
Each garden creates thousands of meals for these grateful families. Our students joined the local families and were able to go to their homes, build the gardens and see exactly who these gardens would feed. It was a powerful and exhausting day. We worked past dark and everyone returned tired, dirty and hungry with huge smiles on their faces. That is the power of service.
