Dreaming of making a difference?
I often get asked how to start a non-profit and after 12 years my advice is to find an existing non-profit and align with them. Utah has thousands of non-profits and each of us need more volunteers and donations. So, just so you know how we do it. Running a non-profit takes endless amounts of time, energy and pure tenacity.
Here are steps 1-5 that we needed to complete. Not to mention the monthly and annual expenses to make it all work. Whew!!
1. Define our mission and vision
2. Conduct market research
3. Develop a strategic plan
4. Register our nonprofit
5. Develop a fundraising strategy
