We want to share a story that has stayed with us deeply.
A few weeks before her passing, a mother named Jennifer reached out to the Be Humanitarian team with her final wish. Knowing her time was limited, Jennifer asked if we could help take care of her seven year old daughter, Genesi Regina.
Her hope was simple and powerful. She wanted to know that her little girl would be able to go to school, eat three meals a day, and be surrounded by love and community after she was gone.
No parent should have to worry about these things at the end of their life. Jennifer trusted us with her greatest treasure, and we intend to honor that trust.
This is why we do sponsorships.
When a child is sponsored, they are not just receiving meals and education. They are gaining consistency, care, and the knowledge that they are not alone.
A sponsor becomes part of a child’s story and helps create stability during moments of profound loss.
