Day 1

Monday

Day 1 – Saturday: Arrival and Welcome Dinner Upon arriving at Guatemala City Airport (GUA), our private driver and bus will greet us. From there, we’ll journey to Antigua to experience an evening walk through the Flower Festival. We’ll enjoy a delicious group dinner and as the sun sets, we’ll take in the city’s magic from a scenic overlook, creating unforgettable memories.

Tuesday

Day 2 – Sunday: Festival de las Flores in Antigua Spend the day immersed in the breathtaking beauty of Antigua’s Festival de las Flores. Wander the charming streets adorned with stunning floral displays, enjoy delicious local cuisine, and soak in the vibrant atmosphere. We will drive to San Andres after dinner and prepare for the meaningful week ahead.

Wednesday

Day 3 - Monday: Volunteering and Family Visits After breakfast, we’ll dedicate the day to volunteering in the community. This includes delivering donations and visiting families, strengthening relationships, and witnessing the impact of our efforts firsthand.

Thursday

Day 4 - Tuesday: Community Outreach and Activities Our day begins with a trip to the bustling market, where we’ll purchase hundreds of pounds of groceries to support local families. After lunch, we’ll host a fun-filled community activity, such as playing soccer, flying kites, or other weather-friendly activities, fostering joy and connection.

Friday

Day 5 – Wednesday: Volunteering and Family Visits After breakfast, we’ll dedicate the day to volunteering in the community. This includes delivering donations and visiting families, strengthening relationships, and witnessing the impact of our efforts firsthand.

Saturday

Day 6 – Thursday: Volunteering and Farewells Another fulfilling morning of community volunteering awaits. After lunch, we’ll spend time at our English school, engaging with the children in meaningful activities. As the day winds down, we’ll begin heartfelt goodbyes to the community that has welcomed us so warmly.

Day 7

Sunday

Day 7 – Friday: Final Day in the Community Our final day in the community will be spent delivering donations, visiting families, and volunteering at the English school. We’ll share moments of gratitude and say goodbye to the families and children who have touched our hearts.

Day 8

Monday

Day 8 – Saturday: Departure After sharing one last breakfast together, we’ll pack our bags and head to the airport. Please ensure your flight departs after 1:00 PM.

Additional Notes: Meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) will be shared together, fostering connection and camaraderie. Accommodations will be in locally owned Airbnbs or hotels. The itinerary and volunteer projects are subject to change based on weather conditions and community needs, ensuring we adapt to serve effectively.

FAQS

Where do we stay?

We often stay in AirB&B’s for group trips so we can have a home base where we meet for breakfast each morning and dinner each evening. There will be room sharing opportunities for those who are interested in spending less on lodging, but we can provide private rooms for everyone upon request.

Do we share rooms?

Usually. If you would like to purchase a single room we can accommodate for an additional fee. We typically share a large house so that we can share our meals but also have many options that would allow everyone on your team to have their own private room.

What types of service projects do we do?

Depending on what time of year we are going we may be assisting with gardening, painting or even building within the community. We will always play with, read with and laugh with our community and there are projects for people of all skill levels.

Can we bring items to donate to the community?

Absolutely! We will provide a list of items that are needed and if you would like to pack extra suitcases and bring them with you, we encourage it. We may also have pre-packed suitcases we can get you if you are flying out of Utah.

What is the weather like?

It is spring like weather where we visit. We encourage you to bring layers as it gets a bit chilly in the early mornings and evenings.

What is the food like?

Be prepared to eat delicious locally grown fresh food. We hire local women to prepare our meals and we will eat at local restaurants. There are plenty of meat and non-meat options and we can handle many food restrictions. Just let our team know.

Is the water safe to drink?

No. We only drink bottled and filtered water while in Guatemala.
